Marv Hansen

Marvin Otto Hansen passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at the age of 87. Born in Grant, Idaho, on September 3, 1938, Marvin was the only son of Otto and Ada Hansen. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his three sisters, and two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Chee Briggs , who he married on April 20, 1962 in the Idaho Falls Idaho LDS Temple. He is also survived by his children; Marche’ Hansen, Amy Huntsman, Joy (Kyle) Quinney, and Bruce (Tiffany) Hansen. Marvin's legacy extends to his 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Marvin graduated from Rigby High School and pursued higher education at Rick's College. He later achieved both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Agriculture Education from Utah State University. His career as a teacher of Agriculture spanned 32 years, beginning at the Navajo Indian Reservation in Chinle, Arizona, and later moving to Roosevelt, Utah. The majority of his career was spent at South Fremont High School in St. Anthony, ID, where he was a devoted cougar and touched countless lives with his dedication to teaching.

Marvin was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, living his faith through service and community involvement. He had a deep love for rodeos and dedicated much of his time to volunteering for the Fremont County fair board, the Pioneer Days committee, and the district and state high school rodeo organizations.

Marvin was a skilled welder and created a design for llama and sheep tables that were sought after by others. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for horses and his eagerness to assist in cattle drives and potato harvests. Marvin was gifted with quick wit, a teasing nature, musical talents and the “gift of gab.”

In honor of Marvin's memory, donations may be made to the Fremont Rodeo Club, an organization close to his heart.

The Hansen family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Crescent Senior Living Memory Care in Sandy, UT for their exceptional love and care during Marvin's final days.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
